Enhancing the Engagement of Marginalized Youth in Public Life

• Project Duration: One year, from October 2019 to September 2020
• Target Area: Douar Hicher District, Manouba Governorate, and Andalusian Neighborhood, Bizerte Governorate, Tunisia
• Target Group: Youth aged 18 to 35 years old, and members of the municipal councils

Project Objectives:

• Develop the capacities of municipal council members in both Douar Hicher District, Manouba Governorate, and Andalusian Neighborhood, Bizerte Governorate: through training workshops focusing on effective communication to build local participation, understanding of legal tools and means for municipal action, and ways to establish partnerships between the public and private sectors.
• Develop the capacities of municipal council members in project planning and implementation.
• Activate dialogue and community participation: Organize participatory sessions and workshops bringing together youth, municipal council members, decision-makers, experts, and representatives of international donor organizations to promote interaction and constructive dialogue.
• Combat terrorism by raising awareness of the risks of violent extremism through educating youth and local civil society activists.
